How to Find Your Calling: Astrology, Intuition & the Courage to Be Yourself with Aino-Sofia Kojonen

Have you ever looked around and wondered, "Why does everyone else seem to know what they're meant to do?" Or maybe you've found yourself trying one career after another, studying new subjects, changing direction, and quietly wondering if something is wrong with you. What if it isn't?

What if the very thing you've been trying to fix is actually one of your greatest strengths?

In this episode of The Freedom Pivot Podcast, I sit down with astrologer, entrepreneur, yoga teacher and makeup artist Aino-Sofia Kojonen to explore what it really means to find your calling—and why becoming yourself is often a lifelong journey rather than a single decision. Together we talk about career changes, entrepreneurship, intuition, creativity, astrology, and the courage to trust the quiet inner knowing that keeps calling you toward something more.

"There's only one of you. Your soul isn't meant to be hidden."

Finding your calling isn't about becoming someone else

One of my favourite moments in this conversation comes when Aino-Sofia describes spending years searching. She studied business. She worked in marketing. She became an entrepreneur. She trained as a yoga teacher. A life coach. An energy healer.

And eventually... She discovered astrology.

Looking back, it wasn't wasted time. Each chapter brought her closer to understanding who she already was. That's an important reminder if you're in your own transition. Finding your calling isn't always a straight line. Sometimes it's a process of remembering yourself.

Why your birth chart isn't about predicting your future

Many people think astrology is simply daily horoscopes or predicting what will happen next. In reality, astrology can be a powerful tool for self-understanding.

Rather than telling you who you should become, your birth chart can help you understand:

  • your natural gifts

  • recurring challenges

  • how you make decisions

  • where growth is asking something of you

  • what feels deeply authentic

For Aino-Sofia, astrology became the language that finally made her life make sense.

Entrepreneurship, intuition and trusting your own path

One theme kept returning throughout our conversation. There isn't one right way to build a meaningful career. Some people are here to stay in one profession. Others are here to reinvent themselves again and again.

The challenge isn't becoming someone different. The challenge is having the courage to become more yourself. That idea resonates deeply with me because it's also at the heart of every Freedom Pivot.

Nature, seasons and life's transitions

One of the most beautiful parts of astrology, according to Aino-Sofia, is how it reconnects us with nature. Instead of resisting endings, we can begin to see them the way nature does.

Autumn isn't failure. Winter isn't permanent. Every ending creates space for something new. Sometimes our careers—and our lives—move through those same seasons.

Reflection questions

If you're in a season of transition, take a moment to reflect:

  • What keeps calling you, even if it doesn't make logical sense?

  • What part of yourself have you been trying to make smaller?

  • If you trusted your intuition a little more, what might change?

  • What would becoming more yourself actually look like?
